About Iain
Iain has over 20 years’ experience in post-production, having started out as a runner at Complete Video in 2000. He worked as a GFX operator, Flame assistant, and online editor before switching to compositing in 2007.
He joined Union as a compositor in 2012 after stints at Pepper, Jellyfish, and Prime Focus. Iain quickly established himself as a creative and tenacious artist, taking the lead on complex and varied projects including Stan & Ollie and T2 Trainspotting, before being promoted to DFX Supervisor.
Since relocating to Canada, Iain has played a key role in building and leading Union’s Montreal studio. He has supervised major projects for the team including HBO’s The Regime and Black Mirror: USS Callister – Into Infinity, which earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode.
Most recently, he served as VFX Supervisor for Union’s Montreal team on 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, helping deliver large-scale, story-driven visual effects for the highly anticipated continuation of the 28 Years Later trilogy.
